I haven’t seen much of the thermal tests but I bet that the i7 hits thermal throttle all the time as well. It’s a dual core low top i5 almost hits thermal throttle what would you expect out of a i9 that’s basically almost a desktop i7.Īs others have said Apple just wanted to have people pay. I like my ‘17 13 none touchbar (8GB, 512GB drive) Because its a great computer for my everyday use even though I had to repast it with some thermal grizzly so it actually stayed cool. yeah they are huge and ugly but they are built to be a real mobile workstation. It even works great on the big gaming laptops like the Alienware stuff but again those things are big because of the cooling needed. The i9 is really meant for a real “pro” computer from the likes or Dell, HP. It just generates too much heat for small chassis.

Honestly it wasn’t a surprise the i9 does the same in Dell XP’s 15.
